The Edo State House of Assembly has directed that Deputy Governor Phillip Shaibu’s impeachment be published in dailies nationwide.
This adopted the deputy governor’s alleged refusal to acknowledge the discovery served on him by the Home last week.
On Wednesday, the lawmakers commenced impeachment proceedings against Shaibu, accusing him of perjury and leaking the presidency’s secrets and techniques.
The impeachment discovery is believed to be the latest development in the rift between Shaibu and his principal, Governor Godwin Obaseki.

There had been an uneasy calm between the deputy governor and his principal since last year when Shaibu declared his curiosity about entering this year’s governorship race.
The Home took the choice to serve the discovery by substitution on resumption of plenary on Monday, the place the Speaker of the Edo State Home Meeting, Blessing Agbebaku, alleged that Shaibu had rejected the impeachment discovery served on him by the Home.
He then directed the Clerk of the Home, Yahaya Omogbai, to publish the discovery in the Nigerian Observer newspaper and other national dailies.
The Speaker mentioned, “It’s clear that the deputy governor has rejected the impeachment discovery served on him by the Home.
“The Home will serve him by substitution by publishing the letter in three nationwide dailies, The Observer inclusive.”
