Nigeria troops of Operation Hadarin Daji in Zamfara State intensified clearance operations in bandits’ enclaves, clearing camps in Mutuwa, Guda Tudu, Kawar, Dantayawa, Gidan Kare, Mahuta, and Gyado villages.
The troops frightened the marauding bandits, who fled before their arrival. However, they recovered four of the bandits’ motorcycles and destroyed their newly established enclave.
Operation Hadarin troops at FOB Faru in Maradun, Zamfara State, received credible information about bandits’ intent to attack Bagabuzu village. They mobilised, engaged the bandits in a gun duel, and denied them access to the villages.
Four bandits were neutralised, while others escaped with gun wounds. Troops recovered a General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG), an FN Rifle, and 123 rounds of special ammunition.
Major General Godwin Mutkut praised troops for their resilience, gallantry, and sustenance in Operation Hadarin Daji, commending their gallantry against terrorists.
In his address, he urged the public to provide credible information about bandits’ activities in order to enable proactive measures to be taken to ensure the safety of the lives and properties of the troops and requested their support in this regard.
