The Nigerian Shippers Council has disclosed that it saved N49.3bn via interventions in authorized circumstances and out-of-court settlements within the maritime sector.
The Director of Strategic Planning and Analysis of the Nigerian Shippers Council, Mr Oluwarotimi Anifowose, revealed this in a presentation lately when the Home of Representatives Committee on Delivery Companies paid the company an oversight in Lagos.
He said that the company, via the Presidential Standing Process Workforce, had been to save lots of N2.77bn in 2021, N3.2bn in 2022, and N3.18bn in 2023, totalling N9bn.
In line with Anifowose, the Ports Standing Process Workforce saved N58.4bn from interventions in authorized circumstances, out-of-court settlements, and vessel demurrage financial savings and fines between 2021 and 2023.

The director additionally revealed that the council saved the Nigerian financial system N33bn from pointless demurrage funds, freight charges, and constitution occasion charges on the nation’s ports throughout the period under assessment.
