President Bola Tinubu has strongly condemned the recent bombing in Kaduna State, labeling it a series of “avoidable errors” that must not be repeated. The incident, which occurred last December, involved a military airstrike in Tudun Biri village, claiming at least 85 lives and causing numerous injuries. The army took responsibility and issued an apology, eliciting widespread condemnation.
Speaking at a Presidential Security Briefing in Abuja on Friday, President Tinubu emphasized the need for improved coordination among security agencies to address internal threats effectively. He warned against repeating such “avoidable errors” and urged the military to fulfill its responsibilities.
In a statement by his media aide, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu stated, “The success you are recording is undeniable. Nigerians are seeing it, but the avoidable errors, as witnessed recently in Kaduna, are unacceptable and cannot be repeated.”

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, described the air strike in Kaduna as unfortunate and emphasized that it was not a deliberate action against the people. He characterized it as a regrettable mix-up that could have been avoided.
Musa stated, “The incident in Kaduna is very unfortunate, I have always wanted to mention it, it’s very sad, it shouldn’t have taken place. It was a mistake and it’s because those in charge had a report something was going to happen and they got carried away and then they reacted, it wasn’t on purpose.”
He appealed for understanding and support for the troops, emphasizing that mistakes, while regrettable, were not deliberate acts. Musa urged unity, prayer for the country, and confidence in its leadership.
President Tinubu concluded the briefing with a resolute message: “Your task is clear. We will sustain our momentum. Failure is not an option under my leadership.”
