The Home of Representatives has condemned the latest abduction of residents, significantly the college abductions of pupils in Sokoto and Kaduna states.
Foxiz NIGERIA reported that gunmen kidnapped scores of schoolchildren within the Chikun Native Authorities Space of Kaduna State on Wednesday.
Two days later, bandits reportedly kidnapped no fewer than 15 Tsangaya college students at Gidan Bakuso space of Gada Native Authorities Space of Sokoto State.
Reacting to the developments, spokesman for the Home, Mr Akin Rotimi, in an announcement on Sunday, stated the felony acts “Should not simply assaults on people but in addition on the elemental proper to training and safety of our residents.”

He recalled that in response to those abductions and different felony actions, “The Home deliberated on three motions on Wednesday and Thursday, March 6 and seven, 2024, moved by Sada Soli (APC, Katsina), Zainab Gimba (APC, Borno) and Mukhtar Zakari (APC, Kaduna) on the necessity to handle the rising considerations of insecurity within the nation.”
He stated, “The Home, consequently known as one safety company to extend the strain towards all felony components throughout the nation as a part of our agency dedication to work with the manager to make sure the protection and safety of all Nigerians are in step with our legislative agenda.”

The lawmakers subsequently known the navy and different safety companies to swiftly go after the abductors and ensure the protected rescue of the victims.
“It’s crucial that safety companies step up their efforts to guard our residents, particularly girls and kids, from these heinous crimes.
“Moreover, the Home stands in solidarity with the affected households and communities and assures them of our unwavering dedication to their security and well-being. We name all Nigerians to stay vigilant and report any suspicious actions to the authorities.
“We urge the federal government to prioritise the protection and safety of all Nigerians and take decisive motion to finish these abductions and restore peace and stability in our communities,” the assertion additional learns.
