Former Education Minister Obiageli “Oby” Ezekwesili supports Jamb’s sanction against Mmesoma for fake matriculation results, advocating for prolonged counselling and deterring future adventurers.
Obiageli “Oby” Ezekwesili expressed satisfaction with the Anambra State Government’s independent investigation into Mmesoma and the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (Jamb) Saga, stating that the process provided Mmesoma with a fair hearing and provided independent evidence that the forgery was personally orchestrated by her.
The former Education Minister supports sanctions imposed by JAMB to deter systemic exam malpractices in Nigeria, stating that syndicates are not the primary culprits. Mmesoma’s tragic incident requires sustained counselling from family, school, and church to support her in embracing values and rewards. The case aims to encourage collective commitment to uphold Exam Integrity in Nigeria as a cornerstone of the country’s Values and Reward System.
I’d like to thank JAMB for their good work and encourage the Registrar and his team to continue to serve our country and people, as we all join them in raising awareness of the integrity of the examinations.
