Operatives of the Imo State Police Command have arrested the proprietor of a visitor home situated within the Obowo Native Authorities Space of the state, Ibe Obasi, for allegedly torturing a youth within the space, Ebuka Udemba, to loss of life.
A press release issued by the command’s spokesperson, Henry Okoye, on Sunday, said that the incident occurred on Saturday.
He disclosed that the suspect had been arrested and transferred to the State Felony Investigation Division.
He mentioned, “Operatives of Obowo Divisional Headquarters have arrested the proprietor of ‘Our Visitor Home’, Umulogho, Obowo, Ibe Obasi, 38yrs, who was allegedly concerned within the homicide of a 25-year-old Ebuka Udemba, ‘m’, an indigene of Umuokpa in Obowo LGA of Imo State.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that the sufferer was tortured and locked up contained in the generator room of the mentioned visitor home by the suspect and two others at giant, the place he suffocated to loss of life, on the accusation of stealing a buyer’s handset.
