The Nigeria Union of Academics and The National Association of Proprietors of Non-public Faculties have requested the Federal Authorities to implement the Secure Faculty Initiative to combat the ongoing abductions of lecturers and learners nationwide.
On Thursday, in an interview with our correspondent, the Nationwide President, NUT, Mr Audu Titus-Amba, expressed his disappointment with the method by which schooling stakeholders had often been kidnapped in faculties. He was reacting to the March 7, 2024, abduction of LEA Main Faculty and Authorities Secondary Faculty, Kuriga, Kaduna State, schoolchildren.
The kidnapping of those 287 youngsters in Kaduna State was one of the largest college kidnappings within the decade for the reason that 2014 kidnapping of schoolgirls in Chibok village, Borno State.
