Senator Abdullahi Gumel, Senior Special Assistant on National Assembly Matters, explained the increase in ministerial nominees to 48 from 42 in the previous administration.
He stated that some merged ministries will now stand alone, such as the Ministry of Works and Housing. Gumel thanked Senators for suspending recess to screen and confirm nominees.
The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has not confirmed the remaining three nominees, Nasir El-Rufai, Stella Okotete, and Abubakar Danladi.
