On Tuesday, armed bandits invaded Jan-Bako town in Zamfara State, kidnapping an unspecified number of people.
Ahmad Janbako, a resident of the town, reported that the bandits attacked the community silently, looting shops and stealing food items.
He said that many residents, mostly women and children, were forcefully taken away by the bandits. The community has not witnessed any attacks from bandits operating around the local government area for a long time.
Ahmad lamented that this is the first time the bandits succeeded in entering the town and that they entered silently because they were aware that residents would not go like that. He expressed prayers to Almighty Allah for the return of the kidnapped.
Security agencies have not yet responded to the latest attack, and police authorities in the state have not commented on the situation.
