“I am aware of my responsibilities and will work with you as a team.” I offer my fellowship to everyone, even those who once disagreed about Senate leadership. These varying opinions are what makes democracy possible. Democracy requires alternatives for real choice. The task at hand is to create laws for the well-being and security of Nigeria as a check on the government. The Senate President urged the 10th Assembly to prioritize national interests. He called it a historic moment.
Dear Senators, I am grateful and humbled to accept the role of President of the Senate. I promise to serve with dedication, integrity, and fairness.
I am humbled by your choice, which reflects the will of the Senate and the true patriotism of Nigerians. Your decision reflects the constituents of all of Nigeria. Thank you sincerely for your assistance. The seat has been occupied by those who have faced challenges and helped shape our journey toward democracy. I am grateful for being elected Senate President and for serving Nigeria. The Senate is part of a continuous government. We aim to enhance the legislative space, building on the 9th Senate’s commendable work led by H.E. Sen. Ahmed Lawan.
