The Zamfara State Police Command stated bandits attacked and killed a person recognized as Ashiru Nagoma and kidnapped his spouse and neighbour in Buluku, an outskirt of Gusau Native Authorities Space of the state.
The spokesperson for the command, ASP Yazid Abubakar, confirmed with Foxiz NIGERIA on Tuesday.
This was approaching the heels of the publication on X (previously Twitter) made by a Maiduguri-based safety professional, Zagazola Makama, who raised an alarm that bandits sneaked into Gusau city to abduct several worshippers in a mosque while observing midnight prayers around 2 am.
“Unhappy. Within the early morning of Tuesday at about 0200hr, bandit sneaked into Gusau City and kidnapped several worshippers in a Mosque where they had been observing tahajjud (midnight) prayers,” he wrote.
Nonetheless, talking on the incident, Abubakar pressured that the late Nagoma had resisted an assault by the gunmen; they usually, in flip, killed him and kidnapped his spouse and neighbour.
“The bandits didn’t assault the mosque. They had a goal, and it was the person that was attacked. His spouse and neighbour had been kidnapped.
“Our rescue workforce is on high of the scenario and is making frantic efforts to make it possible for the perpetrators to be delivered to e-book and the kidnapped victims to be rescued. An investigation can be ongoing,” he maintained.
The PUNCH had in February reported that bandits kidnapped scores of worshippers in one of many mosques in Tsafe city, the headquarters of Tsafe Native Authorities Space of Zamfara State.
An indigene of the world, merely recognized as Garba, advised Foxiz NIGERIA that the bandits invaded the mosque around 5 a.m. when the individuals had been about to start the morning prayer.
Garba stated, ”We had been about to start the morning prayer right now, Thursday, when instantly they (bandits) entered the mosque and directed everyone to exit and observe them.
“Everyone scampered for security, however, the bandits blocked all over the place and warned us that they’d kill anyone who tried to run away.”
