Femi Gbajabiamila, the outgoing Speaker of the House of Representatives, was appointed as the new Chief of Staff by the President, Bola Tinubu, on Friday.
Hadejia was appointed Deputy Chief of Staff, and George Akume was appointed Secretary to the Government of the Federation. Abiodun Oladunjoye, the State House Director of Information, signed a statement titled ‘President Tinubu appoints Gbajabiamila COS, Sen. Ibrahim Hadejia, DCOS, and George Akume, SGF’ on Friday.
Femi Gbajabiamila, whose full name is Olufemi Hakeem Gbajabiamila, is a Nigerian politician who has been serving as the Speaker of the House of Representatives in Nigeria since June 2019. He is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), which is one of the major political parties in Nigeria.

Gbajabiamila was born on June 25, 1962, in Lagos, Nigeria. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in law from the University of Lagos and later received a master’s degree in law from the same university. Before entering politics, Gbajabiamila worked as a lawyer and was involved in private legal practice.
He began his political career in 2003, when he was elected to the House of Representatives to represent the Surulere I constituency in Lagos State. He has since been re-elected multiple times and has held various positions within the legislature. Gbajabiamila has been known for his advocacy for good governance, legislative reforms, and constituency projects.
As the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Gbajabiamila presides over the proceedings of the lower chamber of the Nigerian National Assembly. He plays a crucial role in the legislative process, ensuring the effective functioning of the House and representing the interests of his constituents and the Nigerian people as a whole.
