The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has suspended Ejikeme Joy Mmesome from writing its Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for three years due to an alleged forgery of her 2023 result.
JAMB clarified that Miss Ejikeme’s result was forged and stated that it no longer issues Notification of Result Slips since the 2021 UTME due to candidates falsifying them. The board assured Nigerians that their system was not compromised as the candidate falsified a result slip from another person. JAMB restates that the UTME result presented by Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma is fake.
The Board confirms that its system was not tampered with or compromised. Ejikeme falsified the result slip of Asimiyu Mariam Omobolanle, who scored 138 in the 2021 UTME. “The candidate’s statement inadvertently reveals the true owner of the result she’s proudly displaying. By pointing out the QR code on the result slip, she unintentionally exposes the actual owner before attempting to deceive and obscure the truth. To see the indisputable evidence and confirm the Board’s stance against this blatant lie, the public is encouraged to scan the QR code on the result slip and view the original owner before any tampering occurred.

“QR codes capture UTME results, making the information on result sheets merely an interpretation of the code. The Board no longer issues Result slips due to falsification by candidates after the 2021 UTME.” The Board has been issuing UTME RESULT Slips with candidate photos since 2022. Out of all candidates who took the 2023 UTME, only Ejikeme Mmesoma is invited for consideration. Ejikeme Mmesoma dismisses the obsolete `Notification of Result`. The Board is unfazed, as fraud claims are not unprecedented. Nigerians are urged to recall instances where the Board was sued for billions only for lawyers to later apologise for their clients’ mistakes. One notable case is that of a candidate, John Chinedu Ifesinachi, who threatened to sue for N2b damages in 2021 but later apologised when he confessed his crime in an investigation observed by national institutions such as the Public Complaints Commission and media houses. This case has been handed over to security agencies for investigation into the masterminds of another unfortunate scam.
The Board is open to public scrutiny and will hold an open session with the listed agencies, security agencies, candidate, parents’ guardian, and legal team present. There is concern about the involvement of certain individuals who seem intent on pushing the candidate down an unproductive path, as seen in the staged video aired by Ms. [name]. The Board urges the confusionists to reconsider, as their plans will be exposed soon. The Board is prepared for scrutiny, as this has happened before and may happen again. Eventually, the truth will be revealed, and the Board will be proven right. The Board urges the public to scrutinise the issue and avoid fake news. The Board, after assessing Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma’s serious violation, has withdrawn her 2023 UTME result and barred her from sitting the Board’s examination for the next three years.
