President Bola Tinubu has forwarded the 28-member ministerial list to the Senate for consideration and confirmation, following a legal deadline. The list, which included four former governors and six women, was delivered to Senate President Godswill Akpabio at plenary by the Chief of Staff to President Femi Gbajabiamila.
The list included four former governors and six women. Gbajabiamila justified the non-inclusion of portfolios, claiming it allowed the president to tinker with ministries. The list also included 13 more names to be sent for confirmation.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leadership criticised Tinubu’s inclusion of Nyesom Wike in the list, describing it as a rehash of old politicians lacking ideas and incapable of rebuilding the country.
