Premiere League Giant, Chelsea eye Martinez for Osimhen

Osimhen has been on Blue’s radar since the final summer; however, Napoli managed to carry on to Nigeria worldwide.

In December 2023, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis shared photographs of Osimhen signing a contract extension with the membership until 2026, with a brand new launch clause over £100m, in an enormous switch blow to Chelsea.

Nevertheless, despite the extension, Chelsea never gave up on their pursuit of the Tremendous Eagles striker. Several stories include that the 25-year-old won’t stay in Naples past the summer of 2024.

Osimhen is among the most sought-after strikers in Europe and has been linked to several golf equipment companies, including Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germaine, Real Madrid, and Liverpool.

Chelsea splashed over £1billion two years ago and hasn’t recouped much money with its means to make significant signings. It is now relying on making large gross sales this summer.

British publication football365.com reported that despite being considered the favourites to land the Nigerian striker, the Blues have one other Serie A striker, Lautaro Martinez, as a backup if they can’t get Osimhen.

The Argentine has two years left on his contract at Milan and can be cheaper than the Nigerian.

In the final season, Osimhen scored 26 Serie A targets in 32 appearances, helping Napoli win their first league title in 33 years. However, he has solely managed 11 targets and three assists in 17 appearances within the Italian topflight league this marketing campaign.
