Edo State All Progressives Congress Youth chief, Tony Adun, has apologised to the celebration for central youths and girls to vandalise the secretariat after the primary major election on February 17, which threw up three winners.
The gang led by Adun, popularly referred to as Kabaka, compelled their manner into the places of work and introduced the furnishings, baggage of rice and different tools, vowing to remain on the construction for seven days or until the state government council dissolved.
Adun mentioned that they have been protesting the officers’ conduct on the significant election, noting that the exco laboured in opposition to the celebration.
The protest came here after the Chairman of the Electoral Committee of the first, Governor Hope Uzodimma, introduced Dennis Idahosa as the winner. In contrast, the returning officer, Stanley Ugboaja, declared Monday Okpebholo the winner.
Additionally, Ojo Babatunde, who claimed to be representing the returning officers in all of the native authorities, declared Anamero Dekeri the winner of the election.
With the confusion, the Nationwide Working Committee of the celebration ordered a rerun on February 22 beneath the Chairmanship of Governor Bassey Otu of Cross Rivers State, who changed Uzodimma to the top of the electoral committee for the election.
Okpebholo was declared the winner after the parade with 12,433 votes to defeat Idahosa, who scored 6,541.

In a viral video and a press release on Sunday, Adun apologised to the leaders of the celebration within the state.
He mentioned, “I, Comrade Tony Kabaka, the state youth chief of the APC, want to apologise to our leaders, ladies leaders of our lovely celebration and all our youths as regards the conduct of aggrieved APC youths in the course of the celebration major which came about on the seventeenth February 2024.
“The celebration is supreme. I’ll work with the festival and leaders to ensure our candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, is victorious. I want this medium to congratulate him on winning the concluded celebration major.
“I wish to urge all youths to embrace peace and allow us to all work collectively to verify we succeed within the essential elections come September 2024; I stay a loyal celebration, man.
“I want to use this chance to attract our state chairman, Jarret Tenebe, and state secretary, Lawrence Okah, and different members of the state working committee to steer us to rebuild the celebration and convey all of us collectively to make sure our celebration produce the subsequent governor within the elections.”
