Eko Electricity Distribution Plc (EKEDP) has rebutted claims made by an online news platform suggesting the involvement of its employees in fraudulent activities.
The company acknowledged recent negative media reports concerning alleged ghost employees and recruitment fraud within the Disco. In response, a committee was established to investigate these allegations.
In a statement released on Monday, EKEDP affirmed its commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards and promptly initiated a comprehensive investigation. The Board of Directors mandated the Human Resources Committee to conduct the inquiry, following awareness of the allegations.
After thorough investigation, EKEDP declared the accusations against its staff members, including Chief Legal Officer Wola Joseph-Condotti, Chief Audit and Compliance Officer Sheri Adegbenro, and Chief Human Resources Officer Aik Alenkhe, to be baseless.
The company reiterated its primary mission of providing reliable and sustainable electricity distribution services. With a focus on improving network infrastructure, processes, and customer service, EKEDP serves over 700,000 residential, commercial, and industrial customers across Lagos.
