Ogbonna Nwuke, a former member of the House of Representatives representing Etche/Omuma Federal Constituency between 2011 and 2015, has revealed that the state governor, Siminalayi Fubara, is garnering more support from various political groups and individuals due to his peaceful demeanor.
Nwuke made this assertion on Tuesday in Port Harcourt, emphasizing that those pledging their support for Fubara are individuals and groups seeking stability, progress, and peace in Rivers State. He stressed the impossibility of having two governors in a single state.
“We desire stability in Rivers State. We seek the progress of Rivers State and we yearn for peace in Rivers State. We believe that, as the saying goes, you cannot have two governors in a state that is one,” Nwuke stated.
“Our people have examined the situation carefully and concluded that if you are interested in advancing self-interest, there is nothing wrong with aligning with those in Abuja,” he added.
