The National Automotive Design and Development Council has introduced plans to validate its National Occupational Requirements for converting and upkeep electric and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) automobiles.
The Director-Common of NADDC, Joseph Osanipin, disclosed this during the recent validation workshop for the draft of the nationwide requirements for auto gasoline automobiles in Nasarawa.
He said the workshop’s first goal was to develop a blueprint for expertise growth and standardised operational procedures for the conversion, calibration, and upkeep of these new automotive vitality sources, aligning with the federal government’s renewed hope agenda.
Osanipin famously said that if the National Meeting approves the draft, it could facilitate job creation and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, as ongoing plans embrace the institution of extra CNG gasoline stations in Abuja.

He stated, “If we obtain what the Federal Authorities need us to realize with autogas, it’ll cut back the dependency on PMS and diesel and mitigate environmental considerations. It will additionally create extra jobs and wealth for the nation.”
By Osanipin, the workshop’s essence was to ensure that the input of all related stakeholders was captured in creating this nationwide document.
He added, “According to worldwide best practices, it’s anticipated that the document will emerge from this effort at global requirements and assist in driving the auto sector to international requirements.”
He emphasised the importance of the Nigerian Automotive Business Growth Plan 2023 – 2033, relaunched by the Federal Authorities in 2023. This plan is geared toward revitalising the automotive trade and fostering sustainable development via technological and expertise growth.
