The 2023 presidential candidate for the Labour Social gathering, Peter Obi, has urged Nigerians to use the final stretch of the Lenten season to seek divine intervention for the nation.
His message was in a collection of posts on his X account on Sunday.
He wrote, “As the worldwide Christian Lenten season enters the ultimate lap referred to as the Holy Week at this time, I prefer to want them, particularly Nigerian Christians, an informative week.
“The week-long actions of Holy Week mark the deep remembrance of the fervour, dying, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is the core of the Christian religion. Since February 14, 2024, when the Lenten season began, Christians have continued to fast, pray, and present concord to at least one another by means of almsgiving to the poor.
- The 2023 presidential candidate for the Labour Social gathering, Peter Obi, has urged Nigerians to use the final stretch of the Lenten season to seek divine intervention for the nation.
“The actions of Holy Week, thus, give us a chance to soberly reflect on the challenges facing us individually and people facing us collectively as a nation, an opportunity to ask for God’s divine intervention.
“As we make our human efforts, as individuals, to manoeuvre our nation ahead, we should leverage the solemnity of this season to hope for divine intervention in our country.
“Many’s hearts are heavy with ache, grieving the loss of their loved ones because of the excessive level of insecurity within the nation. Households are hungry and do not understand where their next meal will come from because they cannot afford the necessities.
“A lot of our fellow Nigerians have died in their battle to search out meals to eat. The unity and love in range, for which our pricey nation was recognized, have been sacrificed on the altar of tribal and non-secular division.
“Allow us to, due to this fact, present our nation to God for therapeutic and restoration on this Holy Week so that as we labour, as people, for New Nigeria, it will become much more attainable. I want us all to have a fruitful and impactful Holy Week commemoration.”
