Presidential candidate Mr. Peter Obi from the Labour Party denies reports about his interest in the 2027 elections and comments on government appointees.
Obi, a former Anambra governor, shared on Twitter that the reports were bogus, expressing disappointment in the manipulation of the media in Nigerian politics. He expressed concern about fake media reports based on interviews and press statements he never gave. Two recent incidents involved false claims about his intention to run for office in 2027 during an alleged TV interview.
“The presidential candidate denied the events and distractions caused by fake news, focusing on building a new Nigeria.” Obi, the leader of the `Obidient` Movement, emphasised that their main goal remains creating a new Nigeria. He stated that he would address national issues through reputable news outlets but would not be distracted by trivial matters.
Obi emphasised that his followers’ focus is not on political appointments or personal gain but on empowering the disadvantaged and improving democracy in the nation. Obi said their campaign messages were issue-driven.
