After September 21, 2024, Edo State governorship election, the Impartial Nationwide Electoral Fee has mentioned it might publish the particulars of 17 governorship candidates and their operating mates on March 30, 2024.
The non-public particulars of the candidates can be revealed by displaying copies of Type EC9 together with all educational credentials and different paperwork submitted by every candidate at the state headquarters and the 18 native authorities’ places of work throughout Edo State.
INEC’s Nationwide Commissioner and Data and Voter Training Committee Chairman, Sam Olumekun, disclosed this on Wednesday.
Olumekun mentioned, “Following the conclusion of social gathering primaries, 17 political events have uploaded their candidates’ nomination kinds for the Edo State Governorship Election by the deadline of 6 pm on twenty-fourth March 2024 when the devoted portal robotically shut down.

“The fee shall publish the private particulars by displaying copies of Type EC9 together with all educational credentials and other paperwork submitted by every candidate at the state headquarters and the 18 local authorities offices throughout Edo State.”
When revealed, the fee appealed to Nigerians to scrutinise the doc (candidates’ particulars).
“We encourage Nigerians to scrutinise the paperwork. Any aspirant who participated in his/her social gathering primaries with reasonable grounds to imagine that the data supplied by the candidate is fake can challenge the nomination in a Federal Excessive Court docket as supplied in Part 29(5) of the Electoral Act 2022,” the National Commissioner mentioned.
