Irish chef Alan Fisher has dethroned Nigerian chef Hilda Baci as the record holder for the longest cooking marathon, cooking for an incredible 119 hours and 57 minutes at his restaurant in Japan. This is more than 24 hours longer than the previous record set by Baci.
Fisher also claimed the longest baking marathon record for an individual, with a time of 47 hours and 21 minutes. This breaks the previous record set by Wendy Sandner (USA) of 31 hours and 16 minutes.
Guinness World Records revealed Fisher’s achievement on its social media account on Tuesday, saying, “Nigerian cooking queen Hilda Baci has been dethroned.”
“Alan Fisher from Ireland cooked for an incredible 119 hours and 57 minutes at his restaurant in Japan,” the post added.

GWR also noted that Fisher’s achievement is even more impressive because he completed both the cooking and baking marathons back-to-back, meaning he was in the kitchen for over 160 hours with just over a day of rest in between.
This is a truly remarkable achievement by Fisher, and it is a testament to his dedication and passion for cooking. Congratulations to Alan on breaking two Guinness World Records!
