Festus Keyamo, SAN, a ministerial nominee from Delta State and the recently-retired minister of state for labour and employment, was screened yesterday by the Senate after hours of showmanship and attempts to block the screening.
Following a proposal by the Deputy Minority Leader, Darlington Nwokocha, LP, Abia Central, and Enyinnaya Abaribe, APGA, Abia South, to withdraw Keyamo’s screening, the Senate adjourned to a closed session that lasted for approximately three hours.
After a three-hour break, the Red Chamber, which had earlier descended into a raucous session with the lawmakers starkly divided over whether to stop the screening of Keyamo or not, resumed.
Keyamo was screened at the conclusion and told to bow and leave.
But only after he apologized to the Senate and said that anyone could look at the list of N52 billion Public Works program beneficiaries.
Then he was told to leave and stop sinning.

Before he was screened and told to bow and go, there was a heated debate among the senators that resulted in a tumultuous session.
