The Federal Government has stated that it is not concerned about a potential strike because the organized labor’s 21-day ultimatum expires on Thursday.
After a Wednesday evening meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja with Vice President Kashim Shettima, the Minister of Labour, Simon Lalong, talked with State House reporters.
According to Foxiz Nigeria, the parties failed to come to an agreement during the meeting last Monday.
“I don’t believe there is an issue. Regarding some of the proposals made by them (labour), as well as the ideas and package put out by the Federal Government, we have no concerns.
“As for myself, I don’t see any issues.
“We are confident, which is why we avoided self-boxing in many of our encounters with them. The best, we hope, is yet to come.
“Don’t stress over that. When questioned about the impending strike, he continued, “That’s why I stated it’s a friendly engagement we are having with them.
