During a press briefing on Monday, Mrs. Adebola Williams, President of the Nigerian American Chamber of Commerce (NACC), reiterated the chamber’s dedication to fostering Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) expansion and compliance with global standards. This dedication was emphasized ahead of the upcoming 2024 Africa Food & Products Exhibition in Lagos, themed “Actualising Sustainable Economic Growth – Think Global, Be Local”.
Williams stated, “The NACC facilitates bilateral trade between the USA and Nigeria through networking, advocacy, and investments, with a focus on SMEs and micro-enterprises. Our aim is to provide platforms for business connections, profile building, and exploring global opportunities.”
Ms. Wofai Samuel, Acting Director-General of NACC, highlighted the exhibition as a vital platform for Nigerian businesses to foster partnerships across Africa and connect with importers, manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, and retailers. She emphasized its significance in reinforcing Nigeria’s position as the largest market in Africa.
Ayo Stuffman, Chairman of the African Food & Products Exhibition Committee, emphasized the exhibition as a platform for Nigerian businesses to showcase their products and gain insights from established firms to enhance their practices.
Mrs. Yemisi Ogundipe, Vice Chairman of the Exhibition Committee, stressed the importance of SMEs’ sustainability in the Nigerian economy and urged businesses to embrace global trade practices for gradual, sustainable growth. She emphasized the role of the chamber in educating business owners about the current state of the economy and global investment interests.
