The management of Labour Celebration, on Thursday, dismissed a report of an alleged takeover of the celebration affairs, saying the celebration has no purposeful Board of Trustees as being alleged.
The rebuttal is approaching the heel of a press release by the celebration’s BoT Chairman, Sylvester Ejiofor, that the trustees have taken over the celebration affairs following the expiration of Abure’s tenure and the ‘charade’ that returned him to workplace in Nnewi as nationwide chairman.
However, the Nationwide Publicity Secretary of LP, Obiora Ifoh, mentioned that the celebration wasn’t conscious of the existence of any BoT as being peddled within the media.
In a press release issued on Thursday, ifoh mentioned Ejiofor stepped down as the primary nationwide chairman of the celebration over 20 years in the past and has since not attended any LP assembly or performed any important function as a member of the celebration
He mentioned, “Ever since Ejiofor stepped down as the primary nationwide chairman of the Labour Celebration over 20 years in the past, he has neither attended any assembly or performed any noticeable function as a member of the celebration.
“He isn’t even identified in his ward and has not paid a single dime as membership dues which qualifies him as a member. It’s stunning that after he was ‘visited’ by some leaders of NLC, he out of the blue awoke from his slumber.
“The purpose right here is that the Labour Celebration will not be conscious of the existence of any Board of Trustees. Recall that NLC has continued to suggest for the reconstitution of the BoT in addition to the convocation of the nationwide conference.
“Over 90 per cent of individuals being steered to type membership of the proposed BoT have since left the celebration to affix different political events, some even contested varied political positions on the platform of different political events whereas some others featured prominently within the presidential campaigns of the opposite political events even when Labour Celebration equally featured a candidate within the 2023 common election.
