The Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) offers choices that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) aims to use to provide affordable housing for all of its staff members.
Even as the bank’s Managing Director, FMBN Mr. Madu Hamman, said the bank was ready to support the plan, this occurred.
The admission was made by the Director General of the NYSC, Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, while he was leading the top management of the Scheme on a visit to the FMBN headquarters in Abuja.
He praised the bank for its efforts to offer dwellings at reduced prices to all classes of society, but added that the visit was made to seek close cooperation with the bank.
According to him, the partnership will give NYSC employees the chance to purchase homes as part of his administration’s welfare programme.
Mr. Hamman listed three areas in his statement where the scheme’s personnel might focus.
These, he declared, are the “Ministerial Pilot Housing Scheme, Cooperative Housing Development Loan, and Mortgage Loan from the National Housing Fund. All of our branches around the country operate each of these plans, he said.
The FMBN’s Chief Executive Officer reaffirmed the bank’s dedication to helping low- and middle-class Nigerians buy homes at reasonable prices.
In a related development, the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, praised the NYSC’s contributions to the development and integration of Nigeria since its founding in 1973.
“NYSC is the beacon of hope for this nation,” remarked Maitama, the monarch, who was being represented by his wife, Olori Temitope Enitan Ogunwusi, during a courtesy visit to the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters. One cannot help but applaud the great plan, especially in light of the important role it has played in bringing Nigerian adolescents from different tribes, cultures, and regions together.
