Ahead of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, former National Chairman Uche Secondus has leveled accusations against the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike. Secondus alleges that Wike is attempting to manufacture a crisis to bolster his relevance, particularly in the eyes of President Bola Tinubu, who Secondus claims is growing weary of Wike’s politicization of FCT governance.
Secondus contends that Wike’s efforts are aimed at fabricating a nonexistent crisis within the party, suggesting that Wike is striving to project a sense of supremacy against the 2023 Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
In a statement released by his spokesman, Ike Abonyi, Secondus asserted that Wike’s actions are a deceptive attempt to portray himself as a significant figure within the PDP, while serving his interests aligned with the APC.
Secondus emphasized the need for key party structures, including the NEC, Board of Trustees (BoT), National Caucus, Governors’ Forum, State Chairpersons, and the National Assembly Caucus, to confront and marginalize individuals like Wike, whom he characterizes as mischief-makers and meddlers. He urges these structures to unite and propel the party forward, disregarding the disruptive tactics of individuals like Wike.
