The Tribunal will continue hearing Obi v. Tinubu and others on Tuesday, June 6, after the petitioner provides evidence from eight states. The first evidence offered is INEC results from Ebonyi State. The state has 13 LGAs. The first to fourth respondents oppose this evidence, as with previous evidence. The tribunal will hear the cases of the Labour Party and Peter Obi against INEC, Tinubu, Shettima, and the APC. Evidence was presented last Friday. Obi is present. Evidence tendering to continue in the petition hearing.
The witness confirms the results sheet was altered after signing it and signed the document under duress to obtain a copy, which was not previously mentioned in his oath statement. Witness Ibrahim Mohammed Hamza from Lafia, Nasarawa State, testified that the BVAS failed during result uploads. A witness identifies signatures on INEC results from Nasarawa State, but the original sheet did not have cancellations. The third witness is Mr. Abraham David from FCT. Witness agrees that Atiku didn’t get 25% in FCT but should still win.
The just concluded presidential election is the first presidential election in Nigeria to use the multimodal voter accreditation system (BVAS), an electronic system for accrediting voters prior to voting and transmission of results to the INEC server, and the INEC Results Viewing Portal (IReV).
