The 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has been known for evaluating the 2024 funds completely, citing grave concerns about the nation’s deteriorating safety state, widespread poverty, food insecurity, and crumbling infrastructure.
In an announcement on Monday through X, Obi’s name comes amid controversies surrounding the present funds and its allocation of sources.
Having followed the controversies trailing the 2024 budget, and having read some of the budgetary provisions and allocations of resources, I wish to respectfully appeal for a total review of the entire budget.

“Having adopted the controversies surrounding the 2024 funds and learned a number of the budgetary provisions and allocations of sources, I want to respectfully request a complete evaluation of your entire funds,” he acknowledged.
Urging swift motion from each of the chief and legislative branches, Obi emphasised the urgency of the matter, stating, “The Government and Legislative arms ought to provoke an instantaneous evaluation of the funds as it’s nonetheless in early days of implementation intending to allow them to do pressing virement of sources to essential areas.”
