Some residents of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja and a few areas in Kogi State are presently experiencing energy outages due to technical glitches.
The two areas are beneath the protection of the Abuja Electrical Energy Distribution Firm.
On Tuesday, the AEDC informed its clients in Zamani Property, Abacha Highway Mararaba, Ruga Juli and different components of Abuja that a technical fault on 33kv feeder k6 from AT9 Karu Transmission Station was answerable for the facility outage.
“The administration of Abuja Electrical Energy Distribution Plc needs to inform its esteemed clients that there’s a technical fault on 33kv feeder k6 from AT9 Karu Transmission Station, managed by the Transmission Firm of Nigeria.
The Disco stated in a press release that “the areas affected in Abuja are Zamani Property, Abacha Highway Mararaba, Ruga Juli, Previous Karu Highway, Glory Property and environs.”
The AEDC disclosed that the TCN upkeep crew was working to ensure that electrical energy was restored quickly to those areas, regretting any inconvenience.
Earlier, the TCN had introduced its upkeep crew to perform deliberate upkeep on its TR3 45MVA and TR2 60MVA energy transformers in its 132/33kV Okene Transmission Substation.
The upkeep was scheduled to run from Tuesday to Wednesday, from 10 am to 3pm daily.

Consequently, Abuja DisCo won’t be able to off-take energy from the substation to its clients in Okene, Kabba, Ososo and Ikare during the upkeep interval.
“Kindly observe that bulk energy provide can be restored to Abuja DisCo instantly after upkeep work is accomplished,” the TCN spokesperson, Ndidi Mbah, stated.
In the meantime, Mbah stated that the TCN had commissioned a 100MVA 132/33kV energy transformer at its Port Harcourt Most Important Transmission Substation, which will increase the substation’s majority transmission functionality by 80MW.
This initiative, which she stated was in collaboration with the World Financial Institution, additionally contains the entire rehabilitation and enlargement of the 132/33kV transmission substation and the addition of three feeders and related equipment.
“With the setup of the 100MVA energy transformer, the substations’ capability was elevated from 180MVA to 280MVA. Notably, industries within the Trans Amadi industrial setting and communities past the Port Harcourt metropolis will profit considerably from this capability enlargement,” she added.

Adelabu summoned the managing director of the Nigerian transmission firm, Sule Abdulazeez, to discuss the deteriorating energy scenario throughout the nation since January of this year.
However, the Discos and the TCN have repeatedly blamed the low energy supply on gasoline scarcity, vandalism, power theft, and other components.
