During the public presentation of books on the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja, President Bola Tinubu expressed confidence in the Federal Government’s commitment to carrying forward the developmental initiatives initiated by the past APC-led administration. Tinubu emphasized the dedication to building a better country, fostering a vibrant economy, and ensuring a secure environment for increased prosperity.
Tinubu acknowledged the challenges faced during President Buhari’s eight years, including revenue shortages and the global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite these challenges, he praised the administration for embarking on an ambitious infrastructural renewal, particularly highlighting the laudable transportation roadmap and the ongoing Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Expressway project.
The President noted that while progress has been made in addressing security concerns, the task of eliminating elements causing trouble in the country is ongoing. Tinubu pledged to continue the efforts to stamp out remaining vestiges of Boko Haram, Ansaru, banditry, and kidnapping gangs.
He commended President Buhari for his dedication and service to the nation, stating that the books presented during the event serve as a fitting record of Buhari’s tenure and legacy as the 15th President of Nigeria. Tinubu particularly appreciated Buhari’s commitment to not interfering in the affairs of the current administration after handing over power, highlighting this as a demonstration of true democratic values.
Tinubu expressed gratitude to President Buhari for his willingness to offer guidance when needed, without intruding on the current administration’s operations.
