Nigeria’s variety, according to President Bola Tinubu, is an “asset” that would help the country flourish.
This was said by Tinubu on Friday during a conversation with Nigerians in Paris. Adding that unity and economic fairness must be encouraged for the benefit of all residents, the president said that Nigeria belongs to everyone.
Nigeria belongs to all of us, the president declared. If we can exploit our diversity to our advantage, it will be beneficial to our prosperity. Despite residing in different rooms, they were both born in the same house to the same father. We must work to further our shared goals of harmony, security, and economic justice.

According to Tinubu, many of his colleagues believed his announcement of the elimination of the gasoline subsidy was a “joke”. The president claimed that the system of gasoline subsidies was set up to help a certain group of affluent people. “Until I called NNPC, they thought it was the joke of the century. We’re sick of supporting smugglers, enriching a select few, and helping our next-door neighbors.
“Today, I had a meeting with the president of the Benin Republic. Now that we are buddies, everyone is equal. We are conjoined twins linked at the hips, and this fuel subsidy will help us break apart.
Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), spoke as well. She urged the president to give Nigerians in the diaspora “prominence” in his policies and programs, noting the commission’s numerous difficulties.
