Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has expressed no regrets about the demolition and recovery of public property, as stated during a visit from the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, and members of the emirate council at the government house.
The governor’s spokesperson, Hisham Habib, stated that the demolition exercise was conducted to recover public properties that were unlawfully sold or allocated by the previous administration. The governor emphasized the importance of restoring these properties for the benefit of the people of Kano.
Governor Yusuf thanked the Emir and emirate council for their visit, the first since he took office. He emphasized his administration’s 31-day accomplishments, such as covering the National Examination Council (NECO) fees for 55,000 secondary school students, totaling 1. 5 billion naira.

Achievements mentioned by the Governor include street lights; reducing phone theft in Kano; resuming foreign scholarships; prompt payment of salaries and pensions; and evacuating tons of refuse in the metropolis. The Emir visited the Governor to celebrate Eid Kabir and offered advice for the state’s development. He urged the government and wealthy individuals to help the less privileged due to the removal of fuel subsidies.
