He appealed to the striking union to get back to work. The health sector is committed to the betterment of humanity. We are determined to solve all problems. All discussions must be based on the principle of trust. I assure you that we will speed up the process. We will take care of every problem and find a solution. Please return to work,” President Tinubu appealed to the union leaders.
Acting President Dr Ogbonna called on President Tinubu to improve health infrastructure and workers’ welfare to prevent brain drain and reiterated the union’s readiness to return to work. “We are motivated to talk to our members and return to work.”
During the discussion, Olumide Akintayo, a member of the union’s Executive Committee, who accompanied the acting chairman, urged the Federal Government to always attend to the problems of workers and prevent them from escalating into full-blown labour crisis.
