Tracka called out Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu over the poor state of the inner roads in Lagos. Tracka highlighted the bad condition of the roads in a tweet on Tuesday.
“Lagos State, the `Centre of Excellence, suffers from crumbling roads, making life unbearable for residents. The urgent repair of these roads is needed, as you pledged a better life for Lagosians in your second term,” the platform tweeted. With visual evidence, Tracka displayed worn-out roads from different local governments in Lagos State.
Residents of Alimosho expressed their sorrow about the poor roads via social media. “My vehicle’s bumpers are in bad shape,” said @Logiebo1. Residents find the current neglect of roads even more painful considering their strong support for the current government.
Alimosho votes heavily for the APC in elections, while Ikotun residents continue to support the party that marginalises them. “There are no roads in Ikotun,” said Adekunle Michael. Subzero!🇳🇬, @Subzero721, tweeted, “Festac is a failed estate now. Nothing works anymore. FTRA holds endless meetings.” We don’t know who’s responsible, whether it’s @SenGbengaAshafa or @followlasg. It’s an SOS situation! The traffic jam on this road has become ten times worse, tweeted Jaydon (@Jaydon225). It now takes 45+ minutes daily to travel less than 500 metres due to the road’s poor condition, and this is only a section.
“We’re in a dire state,” he said, referring to just two sections of Okota Road. Multiple road sections are in the same awful condition. Vehicles have abandoned the side near Zenith Bank and resort to using one-way streets. It’s been like this for at least 2 months, and no action has been taken. Adetunji Thomas, @tunjimas on Twitter, tweeted to Governor Sanwo-Olu, saying, “Boda Jide @jidesanwoolu, this is St. Finbarrs’ College Road in Akoka, a route to Unilag from Bariga since Sunday, July 9, 2023. Akoka Community Development Association contributes funds for road rubble. “What a shame!”
