The Nigerian Ports Authority has described the incessant visitors gridlock alongside port entry roads as a global embarrassment that each one stakeholders should synergise to deal with sustainably.
The Managing Director of NPA, Mohammed Bello Koko, disclosed this in an announcement lately when he paid an unscheduled go to to Tincan Island Port entry street.
He stated that the go to was a part of efforts to consolidate the positive factors recorded within the clearance of unlawful checkpoints and shanties inflicting visitors gridlock on Tincan Island Port entry street.
Recall that the Mohammed Bello Koko-led NPA administration lately acquired commendations from some freight forwarders underneath the auspices of the Nationwide Affiliation of Authorities Authorised Freight Forwarders for clearing the perennial visitors gridlock that characterised Lagos Ports of Apapa and Tincan.
Bello-Koko famous that the company’s zero tolerance for all types of impediments to the free movement of visitors was no fluke.
He expressed gratitude to the Minister of Marine & Blue Economic system, Adegboyega Oyetola and the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for the help the NPA had acquired from them in reaching the feat.

Talking on the menace of refuse particles blocking the drainages, the NPA boss stated he had directed the related in-house division to start clearance of the drainages and refuse.
He said, “We are going to enlist the cooperation and intensify synergy with Lagos State Waste Administration Authority and the Federal Ministry of Works, underneath whose purview waste and street administration reside, to arrest the ugly pattern.”
