Two individuals have been killed in a highway accident at Azia junction, Ihiala by Owerri-Ihiala Expressway, Anambra State, on Friday.
The lone accident concerned one unidentified business driver of a Mercedes truck.
It was gathered that the accident occurred at about 9:30am and the reason for the crash was attributed to extreme velocity and lack of management.
An eyewitness stated the motive force, who was on prime velocity, misplaced management and rammed into an enormous gutter by the roadside and crashed.
Confirming the accident, the appearing Sector Public Training Officer, Federal Street Security Corps, Anambra State, Margaret Onabe, stated two male adults have been concerned within the crash.
Onabe stated, “The reason for the crash was attributed to extreme velocity and lack of management.
“In response to eyewitnesses, the motive force was rushing, misplaced management, and rammed into an enormous gutter by the roadside, and crashed
“Two male adults (the motive force and his conductor) have been killed. The useless victims have been taken to Our Woman of Lourdes Hospital Mortuary, Ihiala by good Samaritans earlier than the arrival of the FRSC rescue staff.
“Nevertheless, the FRSC rescue staff has eliminated the particles littered on the expressway, and normalcy in human and vehicular motion has been restored.
“The Sector Commander Anambra State, Corps Commander Adeoye Irelewuyi, sympathised with the household of the useless victims.
