Two passengers lost their lives in a lone accident on Friday at Balogun Village, close to Ikire, Osun State.
It was gathered that the bus concerned was heading to Lagos from Ekiti State.
The deceased had been stated to have died on the spot. However, operatives of Nigeria Safety and Civil Defence Corps and Federal Street Security Corps reportedly responded shortly after the crash.
The spokesperson for the NSCDC in Osun State, Kehinde Adeleke, confirmed the accident.
Adeleke stated, “Right now, April 5, 2024, around 1336hrs, one Oma bus from Ekiti going to Lagos had a lone accident around Balogun village, which claimed two lives immediately.”
She added that those injured in the crash had been taken to a non-public hospital in Apomu for remedy.
Adeleke added that the Osun NSCDC Commandant, Michael Adaralewa, enjoined highway customers, particularly motorists, to always obey visitors’ guidelines and laws while driving to avoid the lack of lives and property.
“He additionally stated that they need to desist from excessive speeding and urge them not to drink alcohol while driving,” he added.
