Senator David Umahi, the Minister of Works, has vowed to fight against federal contractors who resist the use of concrete technology in road projects.
He stated that the use of asphalt by some contractors is a source of funding depletion for the government, and those not ready to work with concrete technology will not be offered jobs by the ministry.
Umahi commended his predecessor, Babatunde Fashola, for his “great” job and commended the contractor handling the Abuja-Kaduna Road project.
He advised contractors to be reasonable with cost quotes and to cut projects into phases for easier assessment and monitoring of progress.
