The Yobe State Police Command arrested a couple, Abdullahi Ibrahim (25) and Khadija Ali (20), who disguised as Christians, pretended to convert to Islam, and robbed unsuspecting victims of their valuables. On June 4th, 2023, at around 1600 hrs., Jude Emmanuel and his wife, Peace Sunday, from Plateau State, approached Gudi Emirates Council in Fika LGA. They wanted to convert to Islam and were accepted by the council. They were placed under the care of the Chief Imam for teaching and guidance.

The Imam sent one of his sons to take him to a nearby bush to find the affected area. After finding a spot where lightning had struck, the suspect collected some dust and returned home. On the third day, he asked to go to the spot and collect dust for his Wife. The Imam agreed and told his son to help them with his motorcycle. When they arrived, the culprits stole the son’s motorcycle and escaped.
The incident was reported at Fika Divisional Police Headquarters, and efforts were made to trace the culprits. On July 1, it was reported that the couple was seen in Biu LGA, Borno State, engaging in similar activities. On July 5, 2023, at 1400 hrs., Division Detectives reacted and apprehended the suspects.
